Dr. Rishu Gupta
MathWorks
Rishu Gupta is a principal application engineer at MathWorks India. He primarily focuses on automated driving and artificial intelligence applications. Rishu has over nine years of experience working on applications related to visual contents. He previously worked as a scientist at LG Soft India in the Research and Development unit. Rishu holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from BIET Jhansi; a master’s in visual contents from Dongseo University, South Korea, working on the application of computer vision; and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from University Technology Petronas, Malaysia.
Peeyush Pankaj

Peeyush Pankaj is a principal application engineer at MathWorks, where he has been promoting MATLAB products for data science. He works closely with customers in the areas of predictive maintenance, digital twin, enterprise integration, and big data. Peeyush has over 12 years of industry experience with a strong background in aviation. Prior to joining MathWorks, he has extensively worked on aircraft engine designs, testing, and certification. He has filed 25 patents on advanced jet engine technologies and prognostic health monitoring of aircraft engines. Peeyush holds a master’s degree in advanced mechanical engineering from the University of Sussex, UK.

Uvaraj Natarajan

Uvaraj Natarajan is a senior application engineer at MathWorks focusing on 5G/LTE/WLAN/wireless and satellite communications. Prior to MathWorks, he worked with Cisco Systems on self-optimizing networks for the 5G/LTE market and developed expertise on end-to-end LTE networks. He has industry expertise on LTE ENB protocol stack development and LTE PHY development. He also worked at the Centre for Communication Systems Research, UK, on cognitive radios, relay systems, LTE-A, and CoMP systems. Uvaraj holds a master's degree in mobile and satellite communications from the University of Surrey, UK, and a B.E. in electronics and communications from Anna University, India.
Jayanth Balaji Avanashilingam

Jayanth Balaji Avanashilingam works as a senior application engineer at MathWorks in the area of artificial intelligence. He primarily focuses on areas of data analytics applications involving time-series data. Jayanth has eight years of research and industrial experience, and has worked on developing AI, machine learning, and deep learning solutions for retail optimization, computer vision, natural language processing, and other application areas. Prior to joining MathWorks, Jayanth worked as a senior AI engineer at Impact Analytics, Bangalore.
Customer Keynote: Trends in Mobility - any chance of inclusion?
Latha is a dynamic business leader with close to three decades of experience. She joined Continental in 2021 as the head of TCI. In her role, she is responsible for engineering competence for global and local markets, focusing on automotive technologies that include autonomous mobility and safety, vehicle networking and information, and new technology. Latha also oversees the Continental Engineering Services, Artificial Intelligence, Architecture and Software, and Processes Methods and Tools (PMT) he[a]t Departments in India. Before joining Continental, Latha was a part of Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, where she was responsible for the complete powertrain and electrification domain. She has also worked with Siemens Information Systems, handling business development in South Africa and as an R&D engineer with Bharat Heavy Electricals, Bangalore.
Latha holds a B.Tech degree in applied electronics and instrumentation from the Trivandrum College of Engineering. She is also a certified coach from CFI and was an awardee of the Top 10 Women Tech Leaders Award in 2022.
Industry Panel Discussion 2: The Impact of AI + X in Engineering and Science
AI is gradually becoming mainstream with development teams looking at it by design rather than as an afterthought. The use of AI in industries including automobile, aerospace, manufacturing, and medical devices is advancing engineering and research and accelerating product development. Embedding AI into machines and systems makes them intelligent. AI is now broadly distributed and exists on the device, on the edge, and on the cloud. This gives enterprises significant flexibility and the opportunity to develop transformative applications that predict the remaining useful life of machines, perform remote surgeries, develop automated driver assistance systems, and more. However, the development and deployment of AI in these embedded devices is not without challenges such as limited skills, non-availability of data and data complexity, the lack of tools to build models, and integration of AI projects to scale. This panel explores the adoption of AI technologies in multiple industries and how organizations are tackling these challenges.

Prashant Rao heads the Application Engineering team at MathWorks India. He and his team focus on helping customers across industry verticals and application domains to accelerate and reduce risk in their development processes through the usage of MATLAB and Simulink products. He has a wide exposure with customers ranging from large enterprises to startups spanning commercial, government, and educational organizations. Prashant is a regular contributor at industry forums, sharing his views around megatrends in technology and especially how artificial intelligence (AI) is enabling engineers and scientists to build smarter systems.
